Welcome

A+ Denver has partnered with Denver Public Schools to convene a Far Northeast Community Committee (FNECC). This committee, made up of parents, teachers, school and community leaders from throughout the region, will examine issues critical to Far Northeast Denver schools including:  academic performance, effective feeder patterns, program offerings, high school configurations, school overcrowding, and strategies to close the achievement gap and meet the needs of English Language Learners.

The Committee will meet five times in the spring, to develop a set of guiding principles reflecting the community’s values in education. The Committee will meet for a second set of meetings in the fall, to consider a set of recommendations for policy choices regarding issues to be addressed and decisions to be made by district staff and the Board of Education specific to the schools and community needs of Far Northeast.

All committee meetings are open to the public, and public input will also be sought at larger community meetings as well as through public comment and through this website. Keep up to date with the work of the FNECC through checking here often.
